Detour traffic will once again begin rolling down Highway 93 in Kootenay National Park to Radium Hot Springs and up to Golden via Highway 95 with overnight closures returning to Highway 1 due to Kicking Horse Canyon construction.

Starting today (May 23), Highway 1 returns to scheduled stoppages and overnight closures.

May 23 highway schedule:

12 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Highway open – no stoppages;

12 – 3 p.m.: Highway open with 30-minute stoppages;

3 – 8 p.m.: Highway open – no stoppages;

8 – 10 p.m.: Highway open with 30-minute stoppages;

10 p.m. – 7 a.m. (May 24): Overnight closure.
