Radio-thon raised $3,800 for Transport Ventilator
A few weeks ago the Golden Hospital announced its desire to fundraise for a new transport ventilator that would provide the necessary support to transfer critical patients to other hospitals outside of Golden. The plea is to raise $43,000 through community supportive fundraising.
One of the first events to help in the “call to action” was the recent EZ Rock Radio-thon spearheaded by Elliot Campbell, EZ Rock Morning Show host.
“What a fabulous way to get the word out and get the ball rolling,” shares Deb Austin, Site Administrator in Golden. “The results of the radio-thon are so exciting and we can’t thank EZ Rock Radio and those who supported the radio-thon nearly enough.”
Assisting in the transport ventilator fundraising effort will be the East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH). Although located in Cranbrook the foundation’s mission is to provide funds for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and other community health care facilities in meeting the needs of the region.
“EKFH wants to assure the citizens of Golden that donations that are dedicated to the transport ventilator in Golden will stay in Golden. EKFH presently stewards gifts for both the Golden Hospital and Durand Manor,” explains EKFH Executive Director, Donna Grainger.
If you could help save a life would you? Please donate to the Golden Hospital Transport Ventilator fundraiser. Donations can be made at the Golden Hospital, on-line through EKFH’s secured website www.ekfh.ca or mailed to EKFH, 13 24th Ave N, Cranbrook, B.C. V1C 3H9. EKFH is a charitable public foundation #11887 8677 RR0001.
