Radium Aquacourt’s 75th birthday celebrated

The Radium Hot Springs Aquacourt is the most popular destination in Kootenay National Park, hosting more than 200,000 visitors each year.

The Hot Springs was first developed for tourism in the early 1900s. The Aquacourt building that stands today was constructed in 1949 and is now recognized as a Classified Federal Heritage Building.

Over the past 75 years, the building has undergone upgrades and improvements to ensure public safety and a positive visitor experience, while also supporting conservation efforts. Most notably, since 2016 approximately $29 million has been spent on upgrading and modernizing the facilities.

Today we acknowledge 75 years of the current Radium Hot Springs Aquacourt building and the completion of these upgrades. Years’ long investments means that the Radium Hot Springs Aquacourt of today offers a modern, safe, accessible and inclusive experience for visitors and community members alike.
