Search continues for presumed drowned man
On June 30, shortly after 3:30 p.m., Golden RCMP received a report that a man dove off a bridge over Beaver Creek and had failed to surface. RCMP members immediately initiated a search for the man with assistance from the Golden Search and Rescue.
A Golden Search and Rescue team, utilizing two boats and a dog, searched Beaver Creek, Kinbasket Lake, and the shoreline. The search was suspended in the evening and is due to resume today. Members of the E Division Underwater Recovery Team will be attending Golden in the coming days in an effort to locate the 26-year-old man.
“Police have been in contact with the man’s family and friends. They have been offered support during this difficult time,” stated S/Sgt. Annie Linteau, Senior Media Relations Officer with BC RCMP Communication Services.
