Swansea Stampede rolls July 15
The Swansea Stampede is happening this weekend (July 15), set on both Mount Swansea and Swansea Ranch.
It’s $20 to enter and the proceeds go to both Columbia Valley Cycling Society (CVCS) and the Columbia Valley Food Bank.
The race, which begins at 1 p.m. at Swansea Ranch, is open to all CVCS members and trail runners are also encouraged to join.
Course: Brace yourself for a challenging 30km ride with 1100m of vertical. Head out on a full lap up Swansea, followed by an exhilarating loop through Swansea Ranch. Signage will be posted on race date and directions posted on social media closer to race day.
Format: Experience the rush of a mass start, where every pedal stroke counts. Timing will be done using Strava and there will be prizes for fastest over all time, along with a secret downhill section (you won’t know which section until after the race is complete).
Timing starts when you leave the start-line but the main goal is to get everyone out, having fun.
After Party: Cool off and celebrate your achievement with a refreshing swim, icy beverages and a BBQ at Swansea Ranch. Prizes from Smith Optics and après activities (e-bike barrel racing, anyone?)!
Swansea Ranch is located on Windermere loop Road, across from the RDEK Water Treatment Building.
