Budget 2024 consultation coming to Cranbrook
The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services, a parliamentary committee of the legislative assembly, has announced details for this year’s provincial budget consultation.
The committee will hold several public meetings to hear from British Columbians about their priorities for the next provincial budget. The meetings are anticipated to take place in late May and June and will be a mix of in-person and virtual (video and teleconference) meetings.
The committee expects to hold in-person meetings in the following communities:
* Cranbrook
* Revelstoke
* Campbell River
* Kitimat
* Dawson Creek
* Prince George
* Penticton
* Vancouver
* Abbotsford
* Victoria
* Richmond
British Columbians are asked to indicate their interest in speaking with the committee by Thursday, March 30, at 2 p.m. (Pacific time) by completing a request form on the committee’s website.
The opportunity to provide written input to the committee will also be available beginning in late May 2023.
The members of the committee are:

* Tom Shypitka, MLA, Kootenay East (deputy chair);
* Brittny Anderson, MLA, Nelson-Creston;
* Bruce Banman, MLA, Abbotsford South;
* Susie Chant, MLA, North Vancouver-Seymour;
* George Chow, MLA, Vancouver-Fraserview;
* Ronna-Rae Leonard, MLA, Courtenay-Comox;
* Ben Stewart, MLA, Kelowna West; and
* Adam Walker, MLA, Parksville-Qualicum.
