Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services (CFES) was quickly on scene of a grassfire on a hillside off Industrial Road 2 this afternoon.

Two crews with CFES hit the fire at the top and bottom of the hill on a vacant industrial park property.

Firefighters had an inkling about how to access the fire from a previous visit to the same area and were able to get on it before it spread.

While the cause of the fire remains unclear, a homeless camp was visible about 150 feet from the location of the fire.
