City of Cranbrook monitoring COVID-19 developments

With the recent public developments of coronavirus (COVID-19) around the province and the country the past several days, the City of Cranbrook has and will continue to monitor the situation very closely.

At this point, all city offices and facilities will remain open and operational as usual for our residents.

As this situation is changing daily, the City of Cranbrook will provide public updates as needed around our operations and services to keep you informed. The City of Cranbrook has and will continue to take direction and guidance from both the regional and provincial health authorities.

“Right now, we understand that the risk of COVID-19 in Cranbrook is considered low, but that does not mean that we are being complacent,” said Mayor Lee Pratt. “At the administrative level, staff is watching the situation carefully and monitoring the latest information coming from Interior Health and the provincial government. We will use this information to determine if and when the city might need to limit public access to City facilities or services.

Residents and businesses are asked to keep up-to-date on the latest around COVID-19, provided by HealthLink BC.

It is important to reiterate that the City of Cranbrook will continue to monitor developments and will work closely with Interior Health and the provincial health authorities for their guidance and direction, in the days and weeks ahead.
