City’s final 2024 utility bills coming to mailboxes shortly
With the return of mail services earlier this week, the City of Cranbrook will be sending out the final utility bills for 2024 by the end of this week — but only for those customers who have not yet paid their bill. Most customers may not receive their utility bill until January as Canada Post works through the backlog of mail.
The deadline for utility bill payments is normally December 31 of each year. In consideration for residents not being able to receive their paper bill during the mail strike, the city extended the deadline until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
We know this is a busy time of year with many other high-priority responsibilities of our residents this holiday season.
Even without your paper bill, you can still pay it online anytime, or in person at City Hall during regular business hours.
As we head into the holiday season, an important reminder that City Hall is closed from Monday, December 23 to Friday, December 27, and will reopen to the public on Monday, December 30, at 8:30 a.m.
We will also be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
For residents that wish to move to using online services to find and pay their utility bill, it’s easy to sign up.
Simply go to the city website @ www.cranbrook.ca, choose the ‘I Want To’ tab, select the ‘Pay/View’ option and then select ‘Utilities’, or you can use this link.
You will need your utility bill account number and access code that is printed on any of your old City utility bills.
There are also many different payment options available to you to pay your utility bill:
- Online banking;
- Paying in person at your bank or credit union;
- Mail drop box or in person at City Hall @ 40 – 10th Avenue South (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Monday to Friday); or,
- Online by credit card through the City’s website @ www.cranbrook.ca or through the direct link.
If you are not keen on using online services and are unsure what your balance due is on your utility account or you just have questions, call us at 250-489-0233, send us an email to [email protected] or simply ask us in person when you come to see us.
