College hosting annual Career and Job Fair
Over 55 local and national exhibitors expected to be in attendance
College of the Rockies annual Career and Job Fair will be taking place in the college gym on Wednesday, March 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Representatives from local and provincial companies, government agencies, and professional associations are scheduled to be on-hand.
“This is the largest career fair in our region, with over 55 exhibitors, so it’s an ideal opportunity for students and community members who are looking for work, or for a career change, to network with employers,” said Doris Silva, Director of Student Affairs. “Many of the exhibitors who will be in attendance will be accepting resumes, so we encourage attendees to come prepared.”
High school and college students looking for summer employment will be able to connect with employers looking for seasonal employers in the Summer Job Alley. Seasonal and permanent job postings for participating businesses will also be posted on the college’s online job board.
“Throughout the day, we generally see about 900 people attend the Career and Job Fair,” said Jenn Smith, Co-Op and Employment Services Coordinator at the College. “We look forward to welcoming alumni, college students, and community members, again this year.”
Fees paid by participating exhibitors contribute to College of the Rockies’ Career and Job Fair Entrance Awards, available to students entering the college’s Business diploma programs. Details about applying for these and other Entrance Awards will be available at the Fair, or eligible students can apply online through the college’s website: cotr.ca(search Financial Aid).
