The last few months have been a whirlwind of activity for Cranbrook Arts, and a great start to 2024!

We would like to welcome our newest team member Kristie Girard. Kristie is stepping into the role of Program Director and Pottery Studio Co-Ordinator. Not to worry Mo is still with us, as her role has evolved to the Community Engagement Co-Ordinator. Mo will be working with community groups to provide low to no cost arts and culture programming, public art, and a deep dive into updating our website. This week saw the start of our Winter Class Schedule in the Art Workshop and wow do we have a great line up for you!

Our Winter Youth art classes include our new $10 Afterschool Art Club every Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m., Sketching with Shyre, and Storybook Creation classes.

Our Winter Adult art classes include a Beginner to Watercolour series, Rico’s signature HIKARIE Valentines Love Letter, and Art Nights with Mo every other Wed evening. We are also offering Free Open Studio every Wednesday from 12-8 p.m.

After the busy Christmas season our Pottery Studio is back in action after a week shutdown for cleaning and maintenance. We are pleased to announce that all but one of our pottery classes have sold out! Please reach out to Kristie if you have any questions or would like to be put on a waitlist.

Kristin has been working hard at developing our 2024 Gallery Schedule and has some amazing shows in the works.

Now on in the Gallery: Veronica Funk, ‘The Grandmothers’ and ‘Working Women.’ This show runs until Saturday, March 9, with Veronica hosting an Artist Talk Friday, March 8, 6-8 p.m. This is a free event and open to everyone. Our Gallery and Gallery Shop are open Wed – Sat, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We are excited to say that our new Gallery Shop is up and running in full swing. We have really enjoyed the wonderful response to the new space.
