Cranbrook RCMP Halloween patrols net impaired driver

Cranbrook RCMP members spent the bulk of their night shift proactively patrolling in support of trick or treaters, whom can often lose sight of safety when focusing on their next sugary stop.

Where disguises are generally frowned upon in the police world, uniformed officers rewarded non-mischievous participants with treats at every available opportunity.

Twenty-five proactive vehicle checks were made with one impaired driver removed from the road and issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition.

“Though concerned with the behaviour of one impaired driver, intercepted in a dense area of pedestrian traffic, we are extremely appreciative of the community’s overall attention to safety,” stated S/Sgt. Barry Graham, Cranbrook RCMP Detachment commander.
