Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls reported to Cranbrook RCMP for the period between 6 a.m. Sept. 10 to Sept. 17, at 6 a.m.
Calls for Service: 139
One impaired driving: (alcohol).
Four collisions in the city: Including a vehicle accident involving two vehicles where one driver was issued an immediate roadside prohibition due to alcohol impairment, no injuries; all other accidents resulted in property damage and/or minor injury.
One collision outside the city: A two-vehicle collision resulting in property damage and minor injury.
Nine driving complaints: Three in the city and six outside the city.
Four assaults: Two domestic assaults; male victim sustained severe hand injury but uncooperative with police as to how it occurred, (cookie jar lid must have been heavy); and a home invasion and assault.
10 Mental Health Act related Calls: Five assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
13 thefts.
Six shoplifting.
One theft of auto: Still under investigation.
One theft from Auto: A license plate decal allegedly stolen.
Four thefts other: Three unfounded reports of thefts; several mounted antlers were stolen.
One attempted break and enter to business: B&E attempt at local downtown business, no entry was gained.
Three break and enter to residences: One incident unfounded; two others reported residential break and enters that are being investigated at this time.
Three damage to property: A fire extinguisher taken and discharged at a local hotel; non permanent mischief done to wall at Western Financial Place where a youth was apprehended and released to mother, no charges; family dispute resulting in broken camper windows in rural area.
Two drug seizures: marijuana.
Nine false alarms and false 911 calls.
