Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls reported to Cranbrook RCMP for the period between 6 a.m. Sept. 17 to Sept. 24, at 6 a.m.
Calls for Service: 156
Two impaired driving: Alcohol: one three day IRP and one Criminal Code Impaired Driving/Refusal (driver fled from police on foot and was apprehended by police dog and handler.)
Five collisions in the city: Collisions minor in nature.
Two collisions outside the city: One vehicle collision with an elk with no injury to occupants; one fatal off road incident involving an ATV.
Nine driving complaints: Six in the city and three outside the city.
Two hit and runs: Minor damage to vehicle and minor damage to fence.
Three assaults: One assault outside a local pub after a dispute inside; one minor assault; one domestic assault resulting in one arrest.
14 Mental Health Act related calls: Two assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Six thefts.
Three shoplifting.
One theft of auto: unfounded.
Three theft from autos: Three completed and one attempted – including a laptop, Dominos Pizza Sign, Iphone taken.
One theft ether: A bicycle tire.
One break and enter other: To seasonal residence; still under investigation.
Five damage to property: Including four mischief to vehicles (keying, broken window, slashed tires, graffiti) and one mischief to residence by unwanted guest.
Two drug seizures: Including methamphetamine (user amount), fentanyl (user amount).
23 false alarms and false 911: Including six from the same residence where it was determined to be a phone issue.
