Dry larch load raffle benefits MRI
For the second year in a row, a logging truck full of dry larch was the top prize in a raffle to raise funds for the new permanent MRI to be located at East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
The logging truck full of larch was generously donated by Silverado Construction and KD Electric.
Hosted during Sam Steele Days weekend, the raffle was a great success, raising $3,231; 34% more than the previous year. The lucky winner was Dan Kohut.
“I strongly believe that it’s important for businesses to contribute to the community in which they live and I am thrilled to be among the first to support the new MRI project,” commented Chase Thielen, owner of Silverado Construction.
“On the eve of announcing our campaign to raise funds for the recently announced MRI at East Kootenay Regional Hospital is it amazing to see community leaders like Silverado Construction and KD Electric lead the way in providing funds for this life saving piece of diagnostic equipment,” said Cassandra Schwarz, East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) Executive Director.
The EKFH MRI Campaign will be officially launched in the coming weeks; donations can be made on-line through www.ekfh.ca.
