Ed Fest in Rotary Park Sept. 9

Ed Fest Arts & Music Festival is a celebration of creativity and expression that takes place each fall in Cranbrook.

The free festival is a one-day event that features a variety of performances, workshops, and activities for all ages.

The festival is designed to promote the appreciation of art, music, dance, literature, theatre, and more. It is an opportunity for the community to come together, explore new ideas, celebrate local talent, and be inspired. The festival is organized by a group of local artists, educators, and community members dedicated to providing a unique and memorable experience for everyone. From interactive art installations to captivating performances, Ed Fest Arts & Music Festival will have something for everyone!

Ed Fest is named after Ed the elephant whose escape from the travelling circus in Cranbrook. The Cranbrook History Centre will be sharing the full history of Ed at the festival. Locals are encouraged to wear carnival costumes to suit the circus escape theme.

Key City Theatre will be putting out a call for paintings, sculpture and textiles to display at the event. Cranbrook Arts will hold an art competition.

Key City Theatre will partner with the Cranbrook Farmer’s Market to offer an artisan market.

The band L-8 from Invermere and Blues Steel from Fernie will be on stage in the afternoon. In the evening, Garret T. Willie and Five Alarm Funk (pictured above) will take the stage.

In addition, there will be circus performers to end the night. All performances will take place at the Pavillion at Rotary Park.

The festival is open to everyone regardless of age, gender, race, culture, or any other factor. All are welcome to come and enjoy the creativity, music, art, and more that the festival offers.

Mark your calendars on September 9 from 2 till 11 p.m. at Rotary Park, Cranbrook.
