Homelessness and social issues townhall June 26

An important townhall information session around the issues of homelessness and other social issues in Cranbrook, hosted by the Mayor’s Task Force On Homelessness, Community Safety and Wellbeing, is set for next week and is open to the public.

The session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Dwelling Place, at 2324 2nd Street South.

The space can accommodate up to 400 people. No RSVP is required. The goal of this session is to bring together the community and talk about some of the hard issues Cranbrook faces, while working together to help find solutions.

The Mayor’s Task Force has developed a ‘Rules of Engagement’ document that every member of the public attending the townhall is asked to follow during the meeting. Attendees who wish to speak must provide your name and address, and if you come forward with a problem you are asked to also bring forward a solution.

The intent of these rules is to help ensure this session can be most effective in addressing issues, making decisions. and ensuring everyone attending can speak and be heard.

Copies of the ‘Rules Of Engagement’ and a Frequently Asked Questions document will be made available to those attending when you arrive for the session. We strongly encourage you to review these documents before the session begins.
