Huge national honours for JCI Kootenay
From September 14 – 17, 10 representatives from JCI Kootenay joined JCI members from across the country for the organization’s National Convention in Vancouver. The weekend boasted leadership training, inspirational speakers and an evening of awards and celebration for each chapter and it’s successes.
JCI Kootenay received nine awards on the night including:
* Most Outstanding Local Chapter in Canada
* JCI Canada’s Most Outstanding Member – Rachelle Langlois
* Best National Skill Development Opportunity – Leadercast JCI Kootenay
In addition, JCI Kootenay’s current Membership Director Angel Kaushal was named the JCI Canada Effective Speaking Champion, and will now compete at the JCI Conference of the Americas in Miami, Florida in June, 2018.
The chapter is also extremely proud to announce JCI Senator Mike Matejka was sworn in as the 2018 JCI Canada National President, with Brenda Van Der Meer as Regional President for the JCI BC/Yukon Region.
JCI (Junior Chamber International) is a global non-profit organization which provides development opportunities that empower young people aged 18-40 to create positive change on a regional, national and global scale. The ultimate goal of this organization is to develop projects that solve complex problems and have sustainable impact, all while fostering the world’s next generation of leaders. JCI Kootenay has been a chapter within JCI Canada since 2004.
