ICE deal for gritty Alaskan from Rebels
The Kootenay ICE have acquired forward Cameron Hausinger from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a 2018 fourth round draft pick.
The draft pick heading to Red Deer was acquired by the ICE at the trade deadline during the 2016-17 season.
Hausinger, 18, from Anchorage, Alaska, recorded seven goals and 15 points in 61 games with Red Deer and Saskatoon last season.
“Cameron brings a level of intensity, compete and energy that will help our entire group,” said Matt Cockell, ICE President and General Manager. “We see him as a versatile player in our line-up that fits well with what we are trying to do today and in the future (as a 1999 born player).”
During the 2015-16 campaign, the right-shooting Hausinger potted six goals and added five assists for 11 points in 58 games with the Blades.
Back in 2014, the Blades drafted Hausinger in the seventh round (135th overall).
The Drive to 25 continues and features exclusive benefits and pricing for season seat holders, available until June 30. To purchase season seats call 250-417-0322, stop by the Kootenay ICE office at Western Financial Place or order online at ICEcountry.ca.
