ICE and Ktunaxa teaming up for Family Fun Day game

The Kootenay ICE has announced details about it’s upcoming Family Fun Day game presented by Ktunaxa Nation Council on Sunday, January 14.

Puck drop between the ICE and the Saskatoon Blades is scheduled for 4 p.m.

As part of every Family Fun Day game, there will be face painters provided by Painted Turtle, a photo booth by Jo Mckinstrie, family music and an Autograph Alley presented by Tim Hortons.

In addition, the ICE will be holding Billet Recognition Night presented by Dean Cockell, Portfolio Strategies. Billet Recognition Night is all about thanking the tremendous billets of the Kootenay ICE and highlighting what they do for both the organization and the players. Without dedicated billets, a WHL organization like the Kootenay ICE wouldn’t be able to properly function and operate. Billets play a massive role in the success of any WHL organization and the ICE are holding Billet Recognition Night to thank the billets for their unwavering support.

Below are details about Billet Recognition Night:

  • Prior to the game, all billets will enter the playing surface wearing their player’s jersey. The P.A. announcer will recognize billets as they walk onto the ice.
  • A ceremonial puck drop will take place featuring the ICE’s longest serving billet family.
  • The ICE in-game host will interview a billet family during a stoppage in play.
  • A billet sign-up sheet will be located under the ICE tent on the concourse of Western Financial Place for those who are interested in becoming a billet family.

Also, the ICE are encouraging all minor hockey teams to take advantage of special offers and incredible pricing as this marks the first Minor Hockey Night. The ICE will also be acknowledging the loudest minor hockey team during the game and are asking teams to wear their minor jerseys to the game.

Tickets can be purchased for online at ICEcountry.ca, at the ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place or by calling 250-417-0322.
