Idlewild Lake now reopen for skating
Baker and Pop Price Rinks proving popular
After unusual and unstable ice conditions forced us to close Idlewild Lake last week, conditions and temperatures have improved enough that the rink is now reopen for skaters.
It is also important to remember that we have three different outdoor ice rinks open for the public: Idlewild, Baker Park and Pop Price Park, and all have lights to extend the amount of time you can get out to skate or play some pick-up hockey.
We also encourage all of our users to remember, that if you bring food and drinks with you to any of our rinks, please properly dispose of any garbage.
City staff are needing to pick up significant amounts of garbage on and around the outdoor rinks before we can flood them. Please remember – pack it in, pack it out.
