Idlewild rehab program webcam now online
Construction is moving ahead very well on the Idlewild Dam rehabilitation, and now you can check in on the work anytime from the comfort of your own home or your smartphone.
The City of Cranbrook made a live webcam feed of the ongoing construction work available to the public beginning today HERE.
A quick link is also available on the city’s website homepage.
“This is the first time we’ve made something like this available to the public for any significant construction project in the City,” said Chris Zettel, Communications Officer for the City of Cranbrook. “We felt that there is such great interest on the dam rehab itself and the overall future of Idlewild, that a webcam would be well used both by the public and the media. If this does prove to be successful we’ll look at using webcams on large construction projects in the future.”
Last week, construction crews with Barrie Mackay Contracting moved activities to the existing dam and spillway to start preparation to rehabilitate the dam structure.
The public is reminded to be aware there are restrictions in park access because of the work. Please stay away from the construction area and obey all barricades and signage.
