Lecture to provide some answers on CWD testing
Local organizations are presenting a free seminar in Cranbrook on Friday, March 28 on Chronic Wasting Disease.
The free presentation at College of the Rockies will provide information on the leading edge of science and technology with respect to Chronic Wasting Disease surveillance and diagnosis.
Key questions to be answered in this seminar include:
- What are the latest advancements in CWD testing and diagnostic science?
- What are the best practices for handling and testing deer?
- How can leading edge science and technology be leveraged to get ahead of CWD in B.C.?
The presentation, at 7 p.m. in the college’s Lecture Theatre, will be given by Mark Hall. Mark is the Director and co-founder of the Canadian non-profit Blood Origins Canada Foundation and host of award winning The Hunter Conservationist Podcast. Blood Origins Canada is headquartered in Cranbrook.
The presentation information has been provided to Blood Origins Canada by the Minnesota Center for Prion Research and Outreach and Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.
The local supporting organizations are in support of new science and information being shared with the public.
