Local first female to make B.C. lacrosse team
Cranbrook Lacrosse Association is excited to cheer on one of their own at the Canadian Lacrosse National Championships on August 13-19 in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Sophie Sheppard is the first ever female lacrosse player from Cranbrook to make Team BC as well as the first modern era player, male or female, to make a Team BC Indoor lacrosse team.
Team BC will begin their defense of their Canada Games Gold Medal on August 14 with the playoff games being on August 18 and August 19.
Cranbrook Lacrosse has developed into one of the fastest growing associations in Western Canada.Ā It has more than tripled its membership since 2015 and has continued to develop top players, having multiple players playing NCAA and CIS lacrosse as well as a Junior program that has not lost a regular season game in close to two seasons.
Sophie is adding to this legacy and blazing trails as the association develops a more robust female development strategy.
