Spring is just around the corner and everyone here at Cranbrook Arts is gearing up for an exciting spring season.

February came and went in a flash. Our workshop has been busy with two Art Sampler Series, Group Paint Nights, and Shyre’s Youth Programming, as well as, Wednesday afternoon open studio. Check us out on Facebook and Instagram to take a peek at all the great art we have been making, and be sure to give us a follow and a like!

In the Gallery the Adolphus Burton Collection has been most entertaining. We have hosted a number of school and senior groups over the month.

Coming up in the Gallery at 1401 5th Street N – Rico: One-Line Drawing Journey. Rico’s exhibit (example pictured above) will run from March 11 to April 23, with the opening reception being held Saturday, March 11, 6-8 p,m. All are welcome to attend! Admission is free; donations are graciously accepted.

This exhibition is interactive! contribute to our communal one-line drawings in the gallery. Gallery hours commencing March 11: Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun 12 – 4 p.m.

Rico’s one-line drawings are complex illustrations that tell a story with a single line: the pen does not leave the paper at any point during the drawing. Many of the works are in accordion book form and are several feet long. You don’t want to miss seeing these!

Our spring class line up is launching March 11!  We have several unique multi-day workshops, with guest instructors, really cool single day classes, and our staple youth programs with Shyre. In the Pottery Studio we have Intermediate Wheel Throwing, Handbuilding, Date Nights, and a Teen Wheel class to look forward too! You can register for all our classes online at www.cranbrookarts.com

This month we would like to acknowledge the hard work of our Board of Directors.

Our dedicated board is made up of nine volunteers who have put in hundreds of hours to make Cranbrook Arts the success it is today!
