Miracle on Baker men reuniting for one night only

Local community rallying to support Big Brothers Big Sisters Cranbrook

Under where? Underwear!

Miracle on Baker StreetFor one-night-only, the men of Miracle on Baker Street will be back together again – in their underwear. It’s been almost one year since 20 local business leaders stripped down to their Christmas best to raise more than $55,000.00 for the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter Project. This weekend, some of the men are reuniting to raise funds again! This time for Big Brothers and Big Sisters Cranbrook.

Last week, newly hired management for Big Brothers Big Sisters Cranbrook announced that they were in financial crisis. That’s when local business leader and 23-year Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer Jason Wheeldon, and his wife Christy, decided to take action to create a one night fundraiser. The event will be held at Dewey’s Pub & Grill from 5 to 9 p.m.; this Friday, December 2.

While Jason Wheeldon is leading the charge on this fundraiser, he is joined by local business owner who usually stays out of the public spotlight. Micheil Hardy will bartend with Wheeldon this Friday, to save a charity that he says is important to him.

“I was recently accepted to become a Big Brother,” said Hardy. “It was heart breaking to find out the program might end. There are children in our community who need additional positive role models in their lives, for a multitude of reasons. I was really looking forward to being that person for one of them.”

Though, thankful for Hardy, he won’t be sporting the underwear that the Miracle Men will be sporting. Hardy will be joining the rest of the public, in an ugly sweater; which is the theme for this Friday’s gathering.

If you’d like to support Big Brothers and Sisters, please drop by Dewey’s Pub & Grill between 5 and 9 p.m. on Friday, December 2. This is a fun public event, which is not meant to encourage drinking; but instead, to garner a large crowd in support of a service club which will otherwise fail to exist in our community. You do not need to drink to support the event. Donations will be accepted and laughs will be had. All who are involved are thankful to Dewey’s Pub & Grill for providing the facility for the event.
