Multiple theft from vehicles reported on Feb. 5
Cranbrook RCMP officers have responded to multiple reports of theft from vehicles believed to have occurred in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 5.
The majority of calls span a four-block radius of the intersection of 6th Street South and 16th Avenue. The above photo of one suspect was captured on a security camera at a residence at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Cranbrook RCMP request residents in the area with security cameras to check for any suspicious activity from Wednesday morning.
Video evidence of attempted thefts may be valuable in helping police identify those involved. Please report any suspicious activity.
The new digital evidence platform recently made available to Cranbrook RCMP allows most users to easily upload video data to a secure police site; this link will be shared with those who contact Cranbrook RCMP.
The vast majority of reported thefts are from unlocked vehicles.
Cranbrook RCMP reminds residents to set daily calendar reminders to adopt the 9pm routine in order to safeguard their property.
