Cranbrook RCMP this morning confirmed that an investigation is underway into the latest suspected poisonings of dogs in the Community Forest.

Steeples Veterinary Clinic warned the public Dec. 11 about fatal poisonings that could be linked to visits to the Community Forest.

“I can confirm we have opened an investigation and are in communication with the Vets who have identified the issue as well as RDEK and Community Forest Association,” stated Cranbrook RCMP Detachment commander S/Sgt. Hector Lee.

Meanwhile, as per the Steeples Veterinary Clinic’s Facebook post Dec. 11: “Please exercise caution when in the area or avoid it all together for the time being. Symptoms include sudden collapse and seizures around four to six hours after visit of the area.”
