Recruitment underway for two city committees
There are several opportunities for public participation and involvement in the City of Cranbrook advisory committees listed below.
Membership is open to residents of the City of Cranbrook.
Board of Variance
The Board of Variance is an independent body formed pursuant to the provisions of Section 899 of the Local Government Act. The Board considers requests for minor variances to the City of Cranbrook’s Zoning Bylaw regarding the siting, size and dimensions of buildings. The Board considers whether compliance with zoning regulations would create undue hardship resulting from aspects of the site as opposed to those which are personal to, or generated by, the property owner. Two positions are available.
Cranbrook Public Library Board
Members of the Library Board form a corporation with the powers and duties given under the Library Act. Board Applicant Process and Package available at the library or at www.cranbrook.ca. Three positions are available.
Terms of reference for all the committees are available on the city’s website.
Interested individuals are invited to submit a Volunteer Application form available at City Hall or the City’s website.
Applications will be accepted at City Hall (attention Kelly Thorsteinson) or by email [email protected] , no later than Thursday, December 21, at 4 p.m. local time.
