Ring in the Holiday Season with A Christmas Carol

Cranbrook Community Theatre (CCT) is pleased to bring a special holiday show to its Stage Door theatre, Charles Dickens’s beloved classic, A Christmas Carol.

Adapted for the CCT stage by director Trevor Lundy, the production is a staged reading featuring CCT veteran performer Michael Grossman as Scrooge and introducing Audrey Branchaud as Tiny Tim. The cast features a mix of CCT regulars and newcomers.

“A staged reading means the actors will have their scripts in hand, but because we always like to take things up a level at CCT, the audience can expect a full theatrical show,” said Lundy.

“What makes this production exciting is that each performance will feature a special guest star reading the roles of Jacob Marley, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, and Boy with the Goose.”

The guest stars are:

  • November 28- Huckleberry Books purveyor Erin Dalton;
  • November 29- Cranbrook City Councillor Lynnette Wray;
  • November 30 – To be announced;
  • December 5- City of Kimberley Mayor Don McCormick;
  • December 6- Key City Theatre Executive Director Galen Olstead;
  • December 7- retired Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce Manager and 2017 Cranbrook Citizen of the Year, Karin Penner.

In the spirit of the holidays, CCT will donate $5 from each ticket sold to that night’s guest star’s chosen charity.

“Dickens holiday classic, at its heart, is about the spirit of giving, so CCT felt it only fitting to give back to the community that has supported us over our past sixty years,” added Lundy.

Tickets for this special event are $30 and go on sale Monday, October 21st, at www.cranbrookcommunitytheatre.com. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

CCT thanks its season sponsor Paugh, Carlson and Associates Wealth Management, and show sponsors, Cranbrook Toyota and Huckleberry Books. Additional funding support has been received from the Rick and Marg Jensen Family Foundation, the City of Cranbrook and the Province of British Columbia Community Gaming Program.
