Road Broads coming to Cranbrook April 3

Comedians Dena Jackson and Clare Belford are excited to play Cranbrook along with local comedian Sarah Stupar

Look out Western Canada! Stand up comedians Dena Jackson and Clare Belford bring you two sarcastic viewpoints on being a travelling performer from the female perspective. The Road Broads Tour provides hilarious takes on anxiety, self awareness and personal truths all discovered in a tiny car while driving through the Canadian Rockies. If you’ve ever felt uncomfortable in your job or in life in general, this is the comedy show that will help you feel so much better yourself.

Clare Belford

Dena Jackson is a Toronto based comedian, TEDx speaker, writer and host of the Ego Podcast. She’s written for CBC Comedy and the Beaverton and her stand-up has been featured at the Just for Laughs 42 Festival, SheDot Festival, Guelph Comedy Festival, Gilda’s Laughfest and the Dark Comedy Festival. She can be seen performing regularly at clubs and theatres throughout North America and her debut album “Blue Lights” reached # 1 on the iTunes Comedy charts in 2019.

Touring along with Dena is Clare Belford, a comedian originally from Edmonton, who is now based in Toronto. She set out on the road early in her career and has performed on stages of all kinds across the country. Her well-crafted writing and authentic delivery has made her a favourite amongst peers and audiences alike. She has performed in clubs and festivals including JFL 42, OFF-JFL, SheDot, Oddblock, Field Trip, and is regularly featured on Sirius XM. Clare is signed with Canada’s premiere comedy label, Comedy Records.

Sarah Stupar

Joining Dena and Clare for the Cranbrook show will be Sarah Stupar. Born in Cranbrook she left as soon as possible for the bright lights of the city, where she promptly learned what a red neck she truly was. After starting comedy in Montreal and continuing in Vancouver, Sarah has returned to Cranbrook where she recently produced the Kootenay Comedy Festival.

Her comedy credits include JFL North West and Tinder Tales in Vancouver, and Lady Fest in Montreal.

The Road Broads show is in Cranbrook for one night only at the Studio Stage Door. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. Note: it is an 18+ show.
