Rotary launches grocery voucher program for CSA

On March 27, the Cranbrook Rotary Club launched a program to provide grocery vouchers to the Cranbrook Salvation Army (CSA) for those in our community who need help in putting food on their tables at home.

Many citizens have been laid off. Many small businesses are closed or struggling to stay open.Ā Children are at home without a school lunch program.

Save-On-Foods and Real Canadian Superstore have agreed to sell grocery vouchers to Cranbrook Rotary Club at a considerable discount and for that, the whole community will be grateful. Thank you Save On! Thank you Superstore!

These grocery vouchers will be available at The Salvation Army by March 31. Thank you Salvation Army for administering this program! What would we do without you?

The Salvation Army is prepared to see that these vouchers are distributed fairly and to a wide a group of those in need and will work with other agencies in our community.Ā The need is expected to grow.

Rotary is an organization that tries to make the world a better place while having some fun doing it. Our members belong to Rotary because each of them believes in the values of Rotary, primarily, ā€œService Above Self.ā€ We will watch how the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds in our community and if there are other unmet needs, Rotary will strive to fill the need to the extent we can.

Donations can be made by sending a cheque to Cranbrook Rotary Club, P.O. Box 7. Cranbrook, B.C., V1C 4H6 or by credit card by emailing Bill Bennett, President, Cranbrook Rotary Club at [email protected].
