Water levels can rise quickly during Flood Watches, the spring freshet, or heavy rainfall events. Sandbags are available to City of Cranbrook residents at a do-it-yourself fill station next to the Public Works yard on Cobham Avenue.

Bags are provided and you are encouraged to bring your own shovels.

Sandbags are made using a centuries old technique that has changed very little.  Bags are made from different materials including treated burlap and plastic.  Sandbags filled one-half to two-thirds full should generally be left untied.
