Sheriffs and friends support Special Olympians with polar plunge

The Cranbrook office of the BC Sheriff’s Service is about to get cold.  Ice cold.

On Saturday, February 25, the Sheriffs are spearheading a polar plunge to raise funds and awareness for our Special Olympians.

Like last year, the event will be held at the Tamarack Centre parking lot from noon until 4 P.M. when officers from the Cranbrook Sheriff’s office, the RCMP, Cranbrook firefighters and local Special Olympians will take the plunge into an ice filled tub.

Mr. Mike’s will be in attendance serving up burgers where all money raised will be donated to the Special Olympians, who just returned from the Winter Games in Kamloops.

“We are excited to participate in this great event that the Sheriffs have organized,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.

“It was a great turnout last year and we are hoping for an even bigger crowd this time around.”
