Snowed In Comedy returning to Cranbrook
A welcome Canadian mainstay is back and travelling across the country from the winter deep freeze through to spring thaw. The Snowed in Comedy Tour returns for its 16th year with stops in 70 cities coast-to-coast, including Cranbrook’s Key City Theatre on Thursday, Jan. 30.
The independent comedy tour has become a Canadian success story, growing from a way for founder Dan Quinn to pay rent while snowboarding with buddies to become the biggest comedy tour in Canada.
In a market still dominated by American acts with American TV credits, this small Canadian comedy tour has managed to succeed. And who doesn’t love an underdog story? Like the Tragically Hip they have done it by touring and making more and more people laugh, year after year.
The tour has now performed in Australia, The US, France, and Switzerland and received numerous standing ovations.
This year, four international comedians return home to create one amazing show. Each comedian brings a unique brand of humour so there’s something for everyone. Just for Laughs winner and tour founder Dan Quinn is joined by Great Canadian Laugh Off winner Paul Myrehaug; six-time Canadian Comedian of the year nominee, Pete Zedlacher; and Erica Sigurdson, a regular on CBC’s The Debaters.
Don’t miss out on the comedy show some have described as “better than the Just for Laughs Tour” and known for “deliver[ing] a flurry of laughs.”
