Sunrise Rotary support Kids Lunch Program
Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club is pleased to announce that the Salvation Army Grant process came to fruition in the last couple of days.
Janice Sommerfeld, who spearheaded pursuing funds for the Family Food Hamper Program, along with Lynnette Wray and Dan Schellenberg, said the total funds ($1,374.76) allocated to the Salvation Army for the Program were comprised of the following: Cranbrook Sunrise funds of $665 as committed in the initial application; $499.76 District 5080; $210 raised at our April 21, zoom meeting.
The grant monies were specifically dedicated to help the Kids Lunch program in Cranbrook.
Lynnette sent an email to Ginny Kristensen of the Salvation Army and it reads in part, as follows: “I’m pleased to let you know that I just approved the e-transfer of $1,374.76 from the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club to the Cranbrook Salvation Army for your family food hampers. This is a combination of club funds, a matching district grant, and donations from our members. We are so pleased to be able to support the excellent work that you and your team are doing during this crisis. We know you are working so hard. Thank you!”
Again, what a great and meaningful donation from our Club. Rotarians in Action. Service above Self.
