Weapons complaint produces tactical response
On November 27 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Cranbrook RCMP responded to a weapons complaint at a residence in the King Street area. With the support of the regional Containment Team, General Investigation Section and RCMP drone, the residence was quickly contained.
As part of the tactical response a wide perimeter was established, which included limiting motor vehicle traffic in the area.
An individual was later apprehended and traffic routes restored.
Cranbrook RCMP would like to assure the general public that, at no time, was there a risk to anyone outside the residence.
āWe certainly appreciated the publicās patience and social media sharing with respect to the traffic interruptionsā said S/Sgt. Barry Graham, adding, āWe would also like to ask that specific details of police tactical response not be shared on social media as it may not only compromise the safety of the officers but, the very people we are responding to help.ā
