WestJet’s Cranbrook arrival being delayed
WestJet’s long-anticipated arrival at Canadian Rockies International Airport (CRIA) has been delayed until June, the company stated in a media release.
WestJet and Pacific Coastal Airlines announced on November 24, 2017 that they had reached a capacity purchase agreement (CPA) that would see WestJet begin connecting Calgary International Airport to CRIA, as well as to Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Lloydminster and Prince George, starting March 7.
The flights are to be operated by Pacific Coastal’s 34-seat Saab 340B planes, painted in WestJet colours.
WestJet explained in its statement the delay is because Pacific Coastal continues to work to meet the company’s operational requirements.
“WestJet apologizes to our guests for the inconvenience these delays may cause,” stated Brian Znotins, WestJet’s Vice-President Network Planning, Alliances and Corporate Development.
“Impacted guests are being offered several different options including alternative transportation to Calgary to embark on their travel from there, obtaining a full refund or changing the date of travel. We again apologize to our guests for this inconvenience and look forward to the launch of our flights from Lethbridge, Lloydminster, Medicine Hat, Cranbrook and Prince George in June.”
The launch has been delayed until June 20-22.
