B.C. seeks feedback to improve grant program
An online survey launched through BC Stats will provide not-for-profit organizations an opportunity to share feedback about the provincial Community Gaming Grants program.
Organizations that applied for community gaming grant funding in any of the past three years will receive an invitation to the survey to share their experiences with the program. In addition, a sample of 6,000 registered not-for-profit organizations from around British Columbia will be invited to complete the survey.
The data gathered will provide valuable information about the customer service experience of applicants, and give government important insight into any potential barriers to program access. The results will be considered carefully by the province as part of ongoing efforts to improve the grant application and assessment processes, and to assess the effectiveness of program eligibility criteria, a Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing press release explained.
The research aims to ensure the Community Gaming Grants program continues to meet the needs of communities, the ministry added.
More than 5,000 not-for-profit organizations, representing communities throughout British Columbia, benefit from $140 million in community gaming grants every year to help them directly deliver approved programs in their communities.
Community gaming grants go to a wide array of organizations that make life better for British Columbians representing arts and culture, sport, environment, public safety, human and social services and parent advisory councils.
