CFEK introduces Kerstin Renner as new GM

Community Futures East Kootenay (CFEK) is excited to introduce Kerstin Renner as the new General Manager (GM). She is replacing long-time GM Sean Campbell, who is leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities in the field.

“Although we are sad to see Sean go after over 10 years with CFEK, we are thrilled to welcome Kerstin into the position,” said Carrie Schafer, CFEK Board Chair.

“Kerstin’s passion for our communities and the people and businesses in them, paired with her excellent track record in building community economic capacity are making her a great addition to the team.”

Renner brings with her a varied background and experience working in different settings, including in communications, media, marketing as well as employment services and community development.

Her strength lies in connecting people to their community through storytelling and capacity building as well as fostering relationships and collaborating with key government contacts, Indigenous organizations and community stakeholders.

Professional involvement with local Chambers of Commerce and other regional community economic development bodies has enabled her to build a strong network in the East Kootenay. Renner is also a director for the Kootenay region on the BC Chamber of Commerce Board.

“I am excited and grateful to be joining CFEK,” said Renner.

“Over the years of working in community development in the region, I have come to know the organization as a dependable partner with a professional staff and guided by a dedicated Board of Directors. CFEK has an innovative and progressive organizational culture, and I hope to continue Sean’s lead and along with our great team, I look forward to many great things to come.”
