Chief Isadore Trail celebrations this weekend

The newly named Chief Isadore Trail (Cranbrook to Wardner) section of the Trans-Canada Trail will be officially opened this weekend, with special Canada Day celebrations at Wardner and Cranbrook.

Friday night features celebrations in Wardner, with a barbecue, concert and laser show.

And on Saturday, July 1, there is a breakfast in Wardner, the official trail opening, ride/ hike to Cranbrook, parade, and it all merges with the Canada 150 celebrations in Cranbrook.

โ€œWe are offering the best, healthiest, family-focused Canada Day weekend event in the Kootenay Rockies,โ€ said trail committee member David Savage.

Of note, the Cranbrook and District Community Foundation supported the grand opening activities with a grant of $1,500.
