Christmas Blessing program seeks support for children
Beautiful Moments is once again working to provide a Christmas Blessing to children and their families in the Kootenays.
In 2020, we started this as a way to give back to our local community as a thank you for the #BeLocal support during the pandemic year. After the positive response and seeing the need in our community, we decided to host this event once again in 2021 to bring some joy, hope, and love into our community and to the lives of local children.
Last year, the community came together and gifted 122 local children from ages 16 months to 18 years. The need was greater last year than the year before as single parents were having a tough time even putting food on the table.
This year we expect it is similar due to the increase in groceries and gas prices. We have already received 100 Child Applications and now need to raise the funds to purchase the Christmas gifts from local businesses at-cost. We hope you will be inspired to be local too and help us make this happen.
We do the shopping (most at cost, so we get more for your $), wrapping, and delivering for you.
All we need is for you to do either of the following (Follow links to learn more.):
1) SPONSOR A CHILD (Click here) – We will be accepting monetary sponsorships. Every $75 Sponsorship will completely fill a Christmas Tote Bag.
2) ONLINE AUCTION (Click here) – We will hold an online auction via the Facebook Group Kootenay Fundraiser. Every bid that wins will help to fill a Christmas Tote Bag.
3) DONATE (Click here) – We will accept donations for the Online Auction as well as monetary donations smaller than the $25 minimum for Sponsorship.
4) PAINT & SIP (Click here) – We are having a fun event to help raise funds towards the sponsorships.
One hundred percent of all sponsorships, winning bids, and monetary donations will be spent on the Christmas Blessing tote bags filled for local children.
Our goal is to provide 100 children in our area with a brighter Christmas which will also provide their family with a little less stress too this year. We hope this will bring some much-needed joy, hope, and love to our community.
