Creston Lions step up for EKFH and issue challenge

A huge shout out to the Creston Lions Club and Demetre’s Catering for supporting East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s (EKFH) campaign to bring in new, up-to-date bedroom furniture for the residents at Swan Valley Lodge.

Demetre Karountzos, who is also a Lion along with his daughter Tracy, organize the No One Eats Alone Christmas Dinner each year in Creston. This year the event generated $600 in donations. Members of the Lions assisted in packaging the takeout meals.

The Creston Lions Club topped off the donation with an additional $2,400 to sponsor a room at Swan Valley Lodge.

The Creston Lions Club would like to put the challenge out to local individuals, families, businesses and non-profit organizations to meet or beat their donation.

The East Kootenay Foundation for Health is raising $180,000 for this project.

You can visit ekfh.ca or call 1-877-489-6481 to make a donation or find out more information.
