EKISC field tour and open house series
The East Kootenay Invasive Species Council would like to invite you to attend our Open House Series in your community. This is an opportunity for us to inform the public about our ongoing efforts in the area, collect feedback from the community, and thank those who are helping us stop the spread of invasive species in our community.
Between 5 and 8 p.m. from September 22 – 29, the staff from EKISC will be hosting an open house in the following communities:
– Sept 22 – KIMBERLEY Centennial Hall: 100 4th Ave.
– Sept 23 – INVERMERE – Lake Windermere Community Hall: 709 10th St.
– Sept 26 – RADIUM – Community Hall: 4863 Stanley St.
– Sept 27 – CANAL FLATS – Community Hall: 8911 Dunn St.
– Sept 28 – FERNIE – Arts Center: 601 1st Ave
– Sept 29 – CRANBROOK – Manual Training Center: 1212 2nd St. N.
– ELKFORD – TBA

Doors to each open house open at 5 p.m.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., EKISC will open the event with a brief introduction of the council. We will deliver a short presentation of our achievements in your community, outlining what specifically we have done in your area and the future holds for invasive species control. A brief session of how to use the Report-A-Weed app will be held just before we open up the floor to an open question period. The Open Q&A session will be an opportunity for the public to ask questions of EKISC and partners. There will be door prizes drawn at 7 p.m., at the end of our formal presentations.
From 7 p.m. onward, we will serve food and drinks and guests will have an opportunity to view our educational displays, pinpoint areas of concern on an interactive map, and participate in games to win prizes.
On behalf of EKISC, thank-you. We look forward to seeing you there.

Education Coordinator
