Fire reported in Peavine Creek drainage
BC Wildfire Service is this afternoon reporting a wildfire in the Peavine Creek drainage southwest of Cranbrook, about one km east of Hidden Valley Road and two-thirds of a kilometre north of the powerline.
The fire is also about 2.5 km west of some Gold Creek properties and 1.2 km south of Pyatts Lake.
Believed to be person-caused, the fire discovered today is an estimated .06 ha.
Bombers have been spotted and heard passing overhead in Gold Creek this afternoon.
