FireSmart information session planned for Gold Creek
Residents of Gold Creek, Hidden Valley, and the surrounding area are encouraged to attend an upcoming session on the East Kootenay FireSmart Program happening at the end of this month.
“This open house is being held as a chance for people in the area to stop-in, ask questions, and get to know what the FireSmart Program is all about,” said Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Local FireSmart Representative Carla Hayday.
“Small changes on your property can really reduce your risk when it comes to making your community more wildfire resilient.”
The open house will be held at the home of local FireSmart representative, Carson Damm, at 3502 – 41 Street South on April 29 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
There is no cost for the session, and residents are encouraged to come by and learn more about home hazard assessments, home ignition zones, the Neighbourhood Recognition Program, and RDEK supported clean-up events.
