Fourth Creston RCMP Cram the Cruiser a success

The fourth annual Cram the Cruiser event was a huge success on Saturday, November 25 in Creston.

The RCMP and its community partners received great community support for the event, which raised funds for children’s food programs at the schools and food/toy donations for the local food bank.

“It was amazing to see the community come together for those in need, and for the children,” stated Creston RCMP Detachment commander S/Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk.

“I am so proud of our community for raising more than $4,000 in support of school food programs, and for cramming five RCMP pickup trucks full of donations for the food bank.

We would like to give a special thanks to our donors that provided raffle prizes, as well as to Pealow’s Independent Grocer for hosting us and being so hospitable on the day of the event. I would like to thank the team at East Kootenay Royal LePage Realty for all the behind the scenes work they did to make this event happen; as well as Kokanee Ford, our partners at BC Ambulance, Creston Bylaw Services, the SPCA, and the students from local schools who helped fundraise,” said S/Sgt. Buliziuk.

“We love working in this great valley and anytime our officers can give back, we passionately look forward to doing so.”

Reminder: Cranbrook RCMP is once again teaming up with the Real Canadian Superstore on Saturday, December 9 to ‘Cram the Cruiser’ with non-perishable food items, toys, diapers and gift cards for the local Cranbrook Food Bank.

Cranbrook RCMP will be in attendance from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with staff from the Superstore to hopefully fill an RCMP vehicle with items needed by the Food Bank.
