Friday Highways Report for the East Kootenay

Friday Highways Report for the East Kootenay is a snapshot to give the travelling public a glimpse of what they may be heading into or out of this weekend.

At time of publication (11:30 a.m., Friday, March 6), most regional highways are dry and bare (as per DriveBC cameras) but things are starting to look a bit wintery north of Radium Hot Springs.

Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting Ltd. earlier today issued an alert of incoming snowfall and rain to the region over the next 24 hours. Expect possible winter conditions in most areas.

Radium Hot Springs to Alberta Border

No conditions reported. Construction work at West Boundary of Kootenay National Park (one km north of Radium Hot Springs). Culvert liner installation near Radium Hot Pools, 91 km south of British Columbia border, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through March 31. Expect speed reductions to 50 km/h in work zone.
