Friday highways update for the East Kootenay

Highway 3/95 – Irishman Creek north

For those heading out or coming into the East Kootenay this weekend, here is a look at what you might expect on regional highways.

Black ice reports

Highway 3 and Highway 3/95 between Stump Road (six km west of Curzon Junction) to Moyie. Also fog patches reported. Watch for slippery sections.

Highway 95 to Highway 3 for 11.2 km (Idaho Border to Curzon Junction). Watch for slippery sections.

Winter driving conditions

Highway 3 at Morrissey, west of Fernie.

Highway 3 between Fernie and Alberta border).

Watch for slippery sections

Highway 95 – between Radium Hot Springs to Golden.

Highway 95 at Brisco.

Highway 95A – between Cranbrook and Kimberley.

Highway 3A – between Kootenay Lake Ferry and Creston.

Highway 3  – between Tailings Rd (14 km east of Salmo) and Creston, including Kootenay Pass.

Highway 1 – From British Columbia and Alberta Border to east of Field.

Highway 93 (Kootenay National Park): Slushy with slippery sections between Radium Hot Springs and Alberta border). Strong crosswinds also reported.
