JoeAnna’s House lemonade fundraisers June 8
A family-friendly fundraiser that sees lemonade sales turn into fundraising dollars is in the works in communities across British Columbia for the third year in a row.
The Good Lemonade Day event will officially be held on Saturday, June 8.
The event was first organized in 2022 by a group of Kelowna volunteers who had a vision of dozens of lemonade stands taking place all on the same day, all with the same goal: to raise money for JoeAnna’s House in Kelowna.
The last two years’ events each saw 70 lemonade stands across B.C., and each year more than $17,000 was raised for JoeAnna’s House, a home away from home for those travelling to receive care at Kelowna General Hospital. This year, they hope to have 100 families and/or community groups host a stand and hit a fundraising goal of $20,000.
The staff and friends of Prestige Hotels and Resorts are excited to be leading this incredibly fun initiative for this year with the proceeds directed to JoeAnna’s House, a cause close to the company’s heart.
JoeAnna’s House is the culmination of the vision and intention of the Huber family (owners of Prestige Hotels and Resorts) especially Josef and Anna Huber. Joe and Anna had always taught the importance of giving back and the unparalleled value of a loving home. JoeAnna’s House is the manifestation of a deeper understanding of what it means to be family, of the responsibility that we have as a community to take care of one another, especially during difficult times.
This home, which welcomes thousands of families each year, many of whom come from cities where Prestige has hotels, is a safe and comfortable place to stay while a loved one receives care at Kelowna General Hospital
Each property will not only host a lemonade stand, but there will be additional special activities; more details to be announced soon.
There are two Prestige properties in the East Kootenay in Cranbrook and Radium Hot Springs.
